DESCRIPTION

  1. Two even teams selected
  2. Team One has to move all the cones so they are sitting up.
  3. Team Two has to move all the cones so they are facing down.
  4. Both teams move around at the same time and have a set time-period to moe as many cones as they can.

Progressions

  • Skipping, hopping, jumping
  • Dribbling a ball
  • Additional tasks between flipping cones
  • Develop into a dribbling drill between gates with an appropriate context eg cars in a city, chasing dinosaurs

COACHING POINTS

How many different ways can you move around the area?

  • Jog, run, skip, sidestep, hop
  • Encourage acceleration and deceleration

How do we change our movement style when flipping a cone to be successful?

  • Bend knees, keep head up
  • Small stteps
  • Maintain balance using arms
  • Accelerate in an upright position to the next cone
  • Push off an lead with the appropriate foot
  • Smooth transition of movements i.e. from running to dipping back to running.
