DESCRIPTION

'Rondo'

  1. Split into 2 groups of 7.
  2. 1 ball/group.
  3. All but 1 player forms a circle.
  4. Remaining player becomes middle man (defender).
  5. 2 touch passing on the outside circle
  6. Middle man tries to win the ball.
  7. If ball is won, player on the outside that lost possession becomes middle man
  8. Progress on to 2 defenders.
  1. Outside men adhere to 2 touch passing.
  2. Focus on body positioning of defender; low centre of gravity; side on; patient and not diving in; timing of the tackle.
  3. When 2 defenders in play, coaching on pressing and covering and when this should be done.
  4. Every few minutes, stop play and add in some dynamic movement as it is still the warm up, i.e Quadriceps; Hamstrings; Hip Flexors; Calf muscles
