3 Cone Shooting Drill

DESCRIPTION

  • Three cones set up around the top of the Goal Box
    • From Left to Right in a horizontal Line
    • Spaced about 10-15 Yards Apart
    • Cone on the left is to be empty
    • Cone in middle (B) will have a player on it, and the cone on the right (C) will have a player on it
      • Small pile of balls by each of those two players.  (Or a coach plays it in to those two players)
    • 2 players behind goal as ball shaggers
      • Left post (D) and right post (E) (for ease of rotation)
      • 4th Cone (A) about 10-15 Yards vertically Away From left-most cone (B) (towards midfield line direction)
        • Rest of players are in this line. 
        • Player A dribbles to Cone 1, does a dribble move and takes a shot
        • Runs to Cone 2 and receives a pass from B takes a shot
        • Receives pass from C and takes him on 1 v 1 to try and get a shot off
        • This ends the set for Player A.  Rotation of spots ensues.  
        • Rotation goes as follows.
          • Player from A goes to B
          • B to C
          • C to D
          • D to E
          • E back to Line A
          • Make sure they are using left and right foot.
            • Laces and instep
