3 teams of 6: red blue and yellow. Set up an area starting at the edge of the penalty box, 44 yards wide and about 20 yards long. 2 teams start in the area with the other team spaced evenly around the edge. Games of 6 vs 6 using the outside players as extras for whichever team has the ball: 3 minute rotation (including the players on the outside) The aim of this is for teams to keep possession of the ball for as long as possible. The players on the outside are 2 touch only. Have a goal at each end with Goalkeepers. The 2 outside players (yellow) nearest the top goal are numbered "1" and those nearest the bottom goal are numbered "2". One team attacks towards the end with the "1" players, the other towards the "2" players. Once a team in the area has had 6 consecutive passes then they can play the ball to the players "1" or "2" and then can enter the penalty area to shoot at goal. Players "1" or "2" only have 2 touches to pass to the player running in. If players aren't getting enough opportunities to take shots, due to not breaking through Defence then each team can shoot in both goals. This will create more space for both of them. 6 games, so each team plays the others twice.

Encouraging 1st time shooting by using the correct technique to take the shot early and finish from close range. Get your knee over the ball and use the pace of the ball to generate the power. By trying to strike the ball too hard, the likelihoood is the accuracy will be poor. Blue 1 plays ball into area and clue 2 moves in to shoot 1st time. Blue 2 goes to replace blue 1 and blue 1 runs around working area to take blue 2s place.

Players 1 and 3 (target players) feed the ball into the player who is facing them. This player must then try and get the ball to the target player at the other end. If the other player wins the ball, he can play to any target player.

The drills starts with one player from group 1 (reds) running with a ball to the opposing goal, trying to score. As soon as they have a shot at goal, a player from group 2 (yellows) runs with a ball to the other goal to try and score. The player that had the first shot has to try and defend against the player from group 2. When this player scores or loses the ball to the defender, the next player starts from group 1 and the player that had the shot becomes the new defender. The player that had the first shot and then defended, goes to the back of there queue. (Players should always finish up in the same queue and attack the same goal).

Position players in groups of 4 as shown in the diagram. Repeat in 2 other areas for a total of 12 players. The server (player 3) stands behind the goalkeeper. He makes a pass out to the shooter who strikes the ball 1st time at the goal. This shot must come from the grid at the right of the diagram. Player 2 retrieves any balls from behind the goal. Repeat and rotate. Progression: Serve the ball for a volley or 1/2 volley.

Set up as shown with 2 cones (the disatance of which between can be modified depending on ability or challenge you want to set your players). 1 player on each cone and 1 player in the middle, 1 ball between the 3. Play starts with 1 end player playing a 1,2 with the middle player and then playing a pass long to the other end player. Middle player should move towards the end player he passes to and then quickly accelerate with the pass on that player to get to a new position to repeat the sequence with the other end player.

Players pass and then move to find an empty cone. Players should take 2 touches, 1 to control and 1 to pass.

Set up as shown with two attackers and one defender, with the defender positioned closest to the goal. Attackers must look to pass the ball quickly  before dribbling it into the goal.

Players always take 2 touches, the ball is moved from one end, into the middle man and then to the other end before the sequence is repeated from the other side.

There are two triangles in this drill, both using the same top point player (player 5). Players in the top triangle pass in an anti-clockwise direction and players in the lower triangle pass in a clock-wise direction. Both pairs of players must use the middle player as their third passing option.

Place 4 goals at the corners of the fields. 3 players per side. Players must one-two combine, before putting the ball through the goal. No more than 2 touches before passing through the goal.

Player 1 passes the ball to one of the cones for player 2 to receive the ball and pass it back after this player 1 passes the ball to the opposite cone and player 2 again receives the ball and passes it back. Complete ten passes before swapping positions. Cones should not be put to far apart.

For the first part of this drill put your team into 3s and give them one ball per group. Staying inside the grid players must pass between themselves, never standing still, working their way all around the area. Once your players have worked like this for a few minutes you can now add a tackling element into this drill. Players must continue to work the ball around the grid, constantly moving but they must now also try to kick the other team's balls out of the area. The last team in possession of their own ball is the winner.

Set up a triangle as shown. 4 players on the outside, 2 on 1 cone and 1 on each of the other 2 cones. 1 ball between the group. The ball is with the 1st player in the cone with 2. The player passes the ball to the player on the next cone and follows the pass, with the reciever taking a couple of steps backwards before recieving the ball. As this player is recieving the ball, the player on the next cone will run backwards before the ball is passed to him, with that passer following his pass. The sequence is repeated at each point of the triangle.

Every other player in each line has a ball. The ball is played into space so that the attacking player can take the ball in their stride. Once the player has the ball they try to score against the goal keeper. The feed is then reverseed to the other side.
