Play a 2 v 2 mini-match, on which setters and spikers play their roles throughout. Spikers dig and take kills while setters only set. All attacks go crosscourt.

The person on the side of the mats feeds the ball to the two players opposite who communicate and pass the ball to the net for the ball to be set up for an attacking one handed tip to the mat that has not been occupied by the feeder. This means that the attacking player needs to work on creating a good field of vision and observe where the feeder has moved to.

3 players stand in a line just off court. Two feeders at the net set the rhythm for the defenders to move using appropriate footwork and then play defence. The defender then moves back off the court and goes the other way and this repeats for either a set time or number of good contacts.

Player starts in front of one feeder and plays defence against ball hit by feeder then runs, side-steps and plays defence at the next feeder. This continues with 3-4 players for set time or number of quality contacts.

Volley the ball to your partner who digs the ball to themselves then volleys the ball back and you do the same for a set time or number of good contacts.

2 players stand on either side of the net, and the receiver starts with the ball by overhand passing it across the net. This player then passes to their team mate who overhand passes it back for the spike. The spiker places the ball crosscourt. On the other side, the receiver's role is to step back from the net to the attack like and try and dig the ball back across the net.

Players stand in two lines on either side of the net. The first player throws the ball up in the air to themselves and digs the ball over the net to the player on the other side. Following the ball at all times the other player must position themselves in such a way that they are able to first-time dig the ball over the other side of the net. After players have made their pass they should then run to the left, under the net, to rejoin the back of the queue on the other side.

Players start this drill on the back line in a press-up position looking at the coach. When the coach self feeds the ball players should get up to their feet and move forward to pass the ball back to the coach before it bounces. After passing the ball back players should run around the cones on the outside of the court and then join the back of the line.

Players are near to the net holding the ball. Players cross step to the left or to the right and block-jump. When rising, top players throw the ball to hit the floor as close to center line as possible.

Start the game by volleying the ball over the net to the player at the back of court they overhand pass the ball to the player at the net who sets the ball up for the player to move forward and play the ball over the net by making a spike approach and tipping the ball to the back court defender , this then is repeated for a set number, length of time or can be made competitive.

(6m x 9m) 8 player per small court Start the game with an underarm serve, and the opposition has to catch the ball and throw it back first time with one of the typical volleyball throws. The player who drops, throws the ball out side the court or in to the net has to leave the court. If the team catches the ball 3 times in a row, one of the players on the side can join back in. A point is scored when the opposition has no players left.

ORGANISATION: Divide the volleyball court into 3 parts with 8 players per area and 2 teams of 4. TASK: Start the game/rally with an underhand serve where the ball hits the ground. If too close to the net, take 2 steps back. Pass the ball over the net in one go with: - 2 outsrectched arms - 1 overhand - 1 underhand For each team of 4, the rules are: If you throw the ball across the net, everyone rotates clockwise. If a player drops the ball/throws the ball out of play or into the net, they leave the court. When the ball is caught in the next rally three times in a row the player returns. When the court is empty the other team gets a point.
