10 passes to score

1 team starts with the ball and tries and make 10 consecutive passes. The other team can send 1 or 2 players across to try and win the ball for their side. If the other team wins possession back for their team the roles reverse in other area (10 passes scores a point.)

Small games

2 vs 2

The 2 defenders are only allowed in the Circle. Attackers can move in and out of the circle as they wish but can only have one player at a time inside the circle. Start the practice with only 1 shooter and 1 feeder.

Small games

5 Passes to Score!

The aim for players is to pass the ball amongst your team. Teams score by successfully completing 5 consecutive passes without dropping / having the ball intercepted.

Small games

Attacking Third Game - Offence v Defence

Play 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 in one third of the court, using one goal. Two shooters at any one time can go into the circle, play up to the third line and see how many goals your players can get. Work within a specific time and see how many points each group can get. Start with a 60 second game, then 30 seconds and finally a speedy 10 seconds game!

Small games

Ball Release Tag

Designated players (catchers) attempt to tag other players. Once tagged players must stand still. Tagged players may only be released by catching a ball.

Ball skills mini Guantlet

3 Feeders, 3 defenders, 1 attacker, 1 ball.  Attacker has to work her way through the defenders passing and receiving the ball from the feeders 6 times.   Defenders to mark in zones so as not to overload he attacker   Attackers should be demonstrating a variety of ways of getting free from the defenders i.e. roll, change of direction, dodge, feint dodge. Add another attacker so that both players have to work together.

Ball Tag With Variations

Set up: 2-20 people, one ball, variation of space dependent on number of players. Mark out a space i.e. third space as in video. All players are to stay in the space, netball rules apply i.e. no running with the ball.  Two players are assigned as attackers, the goal is to move around the area passing to each other to then touch the ball on another player. When a player is tagged, they then become part of the attacking team to help tag others. Ball is to be touched on players, not thrown. Aim is for attacking players to accumulate as fast as they can to get everyone trying to tag.

Small games

Circle Shots

Shooter sprints out to circle edge and, on return, receives a pass. Shooter must balance, shoot, rebound then return ball to player 1. She continues until 5 goals have been scored - running to a different cone each time, then swap with the feeder. Vary the place at which the feeder stands. Then introduce a defender.

Small games

Cops And Robbers

Split your players into teams of 7 or more in different coloured bibs. In the image the yellow players are the robbers and the blues are the cops. The cops must defend the diamonds (netballs) and protect them from the robbers who are trying to steal them and take them to their home. To start the game off coach blows their whistle once to release the Robbers then a second time to release the Cops to chase them. The robbers must work together to get the balls home by passing them using netball rules. The cops must intercept the ball or cause 3 second violations. If they successfully do this the diamond (netball) gets put back inside the blue coned area and the player who loses the ball has to go to jail. Robbers can free their team mates in jail by high-fiving them. When the robbers are home the cops cannot touch them

Double Truck and Trailer

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON* Set up:  Four corners of about 2-3 players, 1/3 space, 2 balls. Balls start in opposing corners.  Balls and player will be moving in an anti-clockwise rotation.  Players from the corner without a ball drive on a diagonal into the third space and receive a pass from player with ball in front of them (corner to their right).  Ball is received then passed on to the player at next corner, in anticlockwise direction.  Player who drove joins the line they passed the ball to. The ball continues to rotate anticlockwise.

End Zone Game

Small games

Happy Corners

Set up: 8+ players, about a third area. Players set up evenly across 4 corners. Opposing players run into the middle and give each other a high five.

Small games

Islands

Create all different islands on the court by using cones. Players need to get in pairs with 1 ball between 2. You need 1 or 2 catchers in between the islands (catches are not allowed on the islands). The aim of the game is that the players in a pair have to try and visit all the islands but to be able to move to the next island they need to pass the to their partnerand avoid the catchers. Catchers are not allowed to intercept the ball. Only tag players inbetween the islands.

Small games

King Ball

Each team has a King (player) standing on their bench. The aim of the game is to get all your team's players (Kings) onto their bench. To become a King, the players on the same team must successfully pass the ball between themselves to their existing Kings, abiding by the rules of netball, and the king must catch the ball without falling off the bench!

Small games

Multi-Ball Madness

Both C players for each team start with a ball both in the centre circle facing the dirction they are shooting and the coach blows their whistle to start the game. Each team is trying to score as many goals as possible during the time frame. The game has 2 balls going at the same time. Every time a goal is scored the GK takes a back line pass. If a ball goes off the sideline normal rules apply You may find a lot of the time there be two balls down one end, this is then where your centre court players should make a difference. If a team intercepts/takes the ball they must try to get it to their shooters to score a goal. When a goal is scored or goes off the backline the ball goes to the GK or GD for a backline throw in. Coach to keep score of the game - extra players can score and umpire where needed.

Numbers Game - Quick Passing Attack

Have two evenly numbered teams lining up on either side of the netball court. To start the drill call out a number. Upon hearing the call the first players in the queue must run out (in the image 5 players from each team must run). All players must touch their base line then run into the middle to try and be first to receive the ball. Whichever player is the first to cross their transverse line receives the ball from the coach and their team is attacking, the other team is defending. The aim is to get pass and move down the court to score a goal. Once completed, the players go to the back of the line in their respective teams, and you call out another number to start the game again.

Small games

Pass chase

2 groups of 4 with one ball in each group standing in two interlocking squares. The idea of the practice is that the ball starts on opposite sides and both teams pass the ball in the same direction around their square. The teams are competing to pass the ball around their team the quickest and overtake the ball from the other group.

Small games

Pass, Get and Takeoff

Pass and Get Set up: 5+ players, 1 ball, 1/3 space Two lines of players (one behind each other) face a stationary feeder. Front two players from each line drive out on a diagonal towards sideline.  Feeder delivers ball to one of the drivers. The player who did not receive the ball is to drive towards the player with the ball and receive a pass. The player who received the first pass the drives towards the stationary feeder to get an ‘intercept’.  The player who intercepted now becomes the stationary feeder for the next two players who drive out. Both of the other players involved go to the back on the line.

Small games

Reversing Roles - Conditioned Game
