Steve Racine Coach, United States

DESCRIPTION

Setup Create a field approximately 30 yards wide by 40 yards long—two full-sized nets with a keeper on each end line. Procedure The player at the head of one line will take one touch and shoot a long shot. After a shot is taken, the first player in the opposite line enters the play to create a 1v1. When one side scores, the goalie makes a save, or the ball leaves the playing area, the second player from the initial line enters the field to create a 2v1. This continues until 3v3 or 4v4 has been achieved. Drill resets after 3v3 or 4v4 concludes.

COACHING POINTS

Players do not need to wait for opponents to be in position and ready when beginning the next situation. Maintain quickness and pace of drill to keep non-involved players engaged in the play.
