We started the game positively, with Will getting a number of chances to score but not capitalising- he was unlucky with one that the keeper tipped on to the post. Despite our dominance, we went 1-0 down, but equalised through Will who found himself in a good position and finished well.
We then failed to clear our lines (a consistent problem this season) and went in to the first break 2-1 down. When speaking to the boys we told them we just needed to get a foothold in the game and didn't necessarily need to get back in to it in the second period.
There were no goals in the second period and we looked much more comfortable on the ball. OB made a couple of good saves to keep us in the game but the opposition didn't really threaten.
In the third period, with about 10 minutes to go, the boys finally switched on and Will got a second with a lucky deflection from the keepers clearance that looped back in to the net. We then capitalised on the momentum, with Aidan grabbing 2 goals and Thomas adding another.
The boys did well to fight back and get the end result, but they looked very sloppy throughout the game, with poor touches and mis-placed passes a constant throughout.
In training we will look to practice better control of the ball, as well as re-iterate "purposeful passing".
I also think we could look at shooting again, as we do look wasteful as times.

Possession without purpose is pointless. These drills combine ball retention with physical conditioning to create teams that dominate and outlast opponents.
Teams have just 6 seconds to exploit a turnover before defences reorganise. Learn how to train your players to attack with speed and purpose.
The U10 age group is the golden window for developing ball mastery. Miss it, and you're playing catch-up forever. Here's how to get it right.
