The purpose of this drill is to work on speed, movement and passing of the attacking team to create a chance.
It should also be used as a defensive shape drill.
Have two defenders, and one holding midfielder on the pitch.
Allow at least 4 attackers (more than defenders).
The coach will play the ball in to one of the attackers who must be looking for the pass.
The attackers must pass the ball quickly, keeping on-side, to get a cross in to the box. They must finish the chance.
The defenders must keep their shape, ideally trying to play offside, but also defend and clear the cross.
Work on communication on this drill by nominating one of the defenders only to do the talking.
Create a resolution to develop your coaching confidence by seizing the opportunity to discover new drills, turn ideas into action and seek advice from the coaching community.
