The first drill that i would be coaching in the session, would be known as dribbling through the cones. The aim of this drill and session is to improve dribbling technique such as close control. The drill has two different sets to it which the participants are going to complete. First, the participants would have to dribble through cones which are going to be set out in sets of two's in order to maneuver the skill. Once it has been completed, the participants would then need to dribble through cones in and out in order to improve close control. This drill will allow every participant that is participating to have an opportunity to perform the skill.
The coaching points of this drill would contain; the part of the foot the participants use, to use both feet when dribbling as it is important and keeping their eyes on the ball in order to have full control of the ball.
Too make this drill difficult for the participants i could incorporate a defender into this drill because then the participants would find it harder to dribble around a defender. Furthermore, instead of using both feet, i would require the participants to use their weaker foot and dribble through cones in order to increase the difficulty and intensity.
