Organisation:
The game is played 2v2. The area is dictated by the age and ability of the players but try to experiment with pitches /areas of different sizes as each one presents a different challenge.
How to Play:
Set up a normal 2v2 game with the extra rule that whenever possession changes hands, the team that loses the ball has to drop one player back into goal. This repeatedly creates 2v1 situations on the pitch.
The game can be progressed by allowing the player to defend in his half rather than drop right back into goal. This will change the decisions being made by all players.
For older foundation phase players, you may want to try setting up this activity with larger small-side teams such as 3v3 and 4v4.
Key DNA Message:Be creative in possession, experiment and try things.
When defending try not to just kick the ball out, get it for your team.
