Individual role of 1st and 2nd attacker in an overload

Very good interactive coaching drills.
Matt

DESCRIPTION

  • Players have a continuous 2v1
  • As soon 1 team finishes attacking the goalkeeper plays the ball to the other team creating a new 2v1. 1 of the previous attacking players drops out
  • Coaches need to be wary of work:rest ratio, 4 minutes play with 1 minute rest is sufficient

Progression:

  • Ladder tournament, the pairs move up and down depending on result, meaning the strongest players should be playing against each other.
  • Coaches can progress a pair by making the field smaller, giving them less space to combine

Coaching Points:

  • Can you decide which combination play depending on defenders positioning
  • If the defender is allowing the 2v1 can they give a wall pass
  • If the defender is cutting off the 2v1, can the 2nd attacker takeover or overlap
