1) Attacking player line up (cold, so have a couple of the same sessions running so not too much waiting around)
2) One defender on edge of 6 yard box plus goalie
3) Coaches passes down line.
4) First attacker in line runs down line to receive and control pass from coach.
5) Second attacker in line runs into area ready to receive cross from first attacker.
6) When ball crossed in, defender allowed off line to close down the Attacker 2. Attacker 2 tried to score before defender able to disposess (attacker 1 cannot interfere at this point - goalie to stay within 6 yard box in order to create 1 v 1 situation)
7) defender's aim is to direct attacker two, to one of the cones rather that to tackle.
Players keep own points:
- Goal: 10 points
- Defending gets attacker through gate: 10 points
- Shot hits top right or left: extra 5 points
- Goalie save: 5 points
- Cross gets to attacker 2: 5 points
7) Rotate
Physical: Running, turning
Technical: control, passing, position, finishing, defending/pressuring by directing the attacker to the side
Social: communicating position/where to cross ball to
Psychological: awareness of where defender is. Shooting/finishing under 1v1 pressure
