Possession - combinations and using width

DESCRIPTION

  • Setup as shown
  • defending team changes posession by passing/dribbling through the red gates
  • Change of possession starts with a ball delivered from the coach (black)
  • Object:
    1. to build the play through combination passes for a chance to score 
    2. Overlapping run or a run into width to have a cross

Progression:

  • two touch to score
  • one touch finish
  • two touch everywhere

COACHING POINTS

  • communication
  • attack space, can you find passing lanes? can you see the play one step ahead?
  • receive and open into space - know where you want to go/where you want to pass before you receive the ball?
  • lead the ball into space
