Live ball drill with player

In this Drill the players start in the tram line. With the coach feeding the first ball from the basket the first player hits a controlled forehand back to the player at the net who in turn plays the ball in to the open court for the player to run onto the ball and hit a winner down the line. Player then runs around the cone and returns back to the queue.

No winners!

Players are working in the full court and take it in turns to feed the ball in out of their hand. They are playing the point out as normal but with the stipulation that they are not allowed to hit a winner to win the point! Players must make their best effort to reach balls, it is up to the coach to decide whether they have done this and whether the ball hit was an outright winner - in which case it will not be counted! Players can play first to 11 points, this can and should take a quite a long time!

Rally Drills

Non-Dominant Warm Up

Players rally up and down the middle of the court while standing on the service line using their non-dominant hand, looking for as much control as they can get.

Rally Drills

Racquet And Feet Rally

Players rally together, but instead of both players using the racquet, one player uses their legs and feet to control and kick the ball over the net, while the other player does use their racquet before swapping. This exercise is a great tool to have fun while working on co-ordination skills and also helps players improve their ball perception abilities.

Rally Drills

Rally to the Advantage Side

Coach stands in the advantage corner. Coach and player rally together before the coach moves the player around the court. The player's goal is to make all balls to the advantage corner.
