This is a passing combination activity that involves 3 players at a time. The combination sequence will help perfect passing, combination play, movement off the ball, and will help improve player fitness level. Create a grid 10 x 20. Two players start on the corner cone opposite each other. One player starts in the center of the grid. 1. Player A starts the play by passing into the central player (Player B). 2. Player A moves to the cone to their left and receives the ball back from Player B. After returning the ball back to Player A, Player B moves to Player A's original starting position at cone. 3. Player A plays a long ball to player C and moves into the center of the grid to become the new central player. 4. Player C plays into Player A. 5. Player A returns the ball to Player C who has moved to the cone on the left. Player A now takes the starting position of Player C. 6. Player C plays a long ball down to the starting position (now Player B) and Player C becomes the central player. The pattern is repeated.
Progression: switch and go in the other direction. focus on quality of passes such as weight, pace, and accuracy. a well timed run facing the passing direction will assure a more accurate pass. the players must communicate with each other to make the activity easier. players must concentrate on making the correct runs off the ball.
