Objective of this drill is to prevent the attacker running past the defender. The yellow defender must prevent the red attacker initially turning them with the first pass by defending behind them and not trying to jump in front of them. The defender must use their body to keep the attacker facing their own goal. The drill will start with the setup shown. The bottom attacker will play a pass in to the marked attacker who will have the choice of either laying the ball off for a 1-2 around the defender or turning the defender themselves if the defender is in a bad position. The objective of the defender is not be to be turned easily, and if the 1-2 scenario happens, the defender must work hard to get back in front of the attacker who will be running on to the second pass. Attackers ust communicate their intentions by calling "1-2"
