Community | Shaping - Full Back Transitions

Jamie Hughes Coach, Scotland

DESCRIPTION

Set up with 16 players. Attacking team in a 4-3-1, defending team in 3-3-1 with one keeper. Play starts with pass from back out to full back. You are wanting the full back to progress up the pitch with the ball. To allow this to happen, winger must screen the opposition midfielder to create a path and create a 1 v 1 against opposite full back. Once full back has moved up far enough, winger must then tuck in to the full back position to fill in the gap in defence. Play from there.
