
To progress, the players set up in an 8v8, with the defensive team setting up in a 4-1-2 plus GK and the attacking team in a 4-3-1. To begin with, this session is unopposed, with the defensive team putting pressure on the central players but not tackling. When the ball goes wide, the session becomes opposed as the fullbacks practice 1v1 against the wingers, or even 1v2 using the attacking teams fullbacks. The wingers must put a cross in to the box for the striker and attacking midfielder to attack.
