How we press when playing 3-5-2 against a 4-3-3 formation. We must have the awareness that when we change to a 3-5-2 to be more attacking, the opposition may change to more of a 4-5-1 rather than 4-3-3. This means our CB's and wide players need to be more aware of their winger playing in deeper roles. This formation is not too disimilar to our standard set up. everyones role is pretty much the same, just with the wide players not pressing as high and the defenders not pressing higher up the pitch.
Working from front to bakc. 1. Strikers; When the CB has the ball. One striker presses that player whilst trying to slpit off any easy pass to the full back. The other stirker gets close enough to support his strike partner and cuts on passes into the other CB. 2. Attacking midielder; As with the standard set up. Your role when we press to to get tight and stay tight tho their deepest mdfielder, not allowing him to be an option for the CB. 3. Wingers: If play is closer to your side of the pitch. Press forward to get into a position to press the full back if he gets the ball. If you are o the opposite wing, Tuck infield and deeper to be in a position to support the defence if they get dragged out. 4. CM, Get tight to their midfield not allowing any easy pass. 5. DM, get yourself between their centre forward and midfield to cut out any forward pass. 6. Back 3, stay tight, dont get dragged wide until the ball gets played into our defensive thurd of the pitch.
