DESCRIPTION

To progress this in to a game, a zonal attacking overload match is played.

Each team plays a 3-2-1 with goalkeepers, but the only player allowed in the attacking penalty area is the striker.

Players are not allowed to leave their zones, except the striker who can drop back one zone.

Attacking players are allowed to enter the final zone in the wide areas with the ball, but cannot enter the penalty area and a defensive player may join them.

Only the striker is allowed to score and their shot must be taken from inside the area.

The defending team will always be at a disadvantage so must work to close down angles.

COACHING POINTS

Rotate the striker every time they score so that multiple attacking players get a chance as the striker.

The reason we play with attacking overloads in this session is to allow as many shots as possible during the match.
