Set Up
Mark out 2/3 of a full size pitch as on diagram. Prepare min. 4 spare balls. The teams play in specific formations. Provide tactical instructions for each team:
Formations
Attacking team:
1. 8 players (7+GK) (blue)
2. 1-2-3-2 formation
3. The attacking team scores in three small goals.
Defending team:
1. 6 players (red)
2. 4-2 formation
3. Defend full small goals
Rules
Game starts when the ball is played in by player no. 1
The attacking team scores in the three small goals. After gaining possession defending team scores by scoring in the full sized goal as soon as possible.
Instructions
Apply medium pressure (on 3/4 of the pitch) and force attacking team to play through central defenders.
Teach players to play in triangles/ Diamonds from the kick off.
Yellow lines on the diagram indicate where a player should run to at the point of the Goal Keeper passing the ball to the defender
Reverse the runs/ possitions for goal kicks passed to other defender or if the defender passes to other center back. This means 6 Moves to where 8 Moved to, 8 to where 10 moved too and 10 the reverse (go left) to where 6 moved to.
From there on players must learn how to play through the opposition. Where to move to create Space etc.
