Dealing with balls played beyond or through defence.

DESCRIPTION

  • 2 goalkeepers (yellow)
  • 6 players (blue/red)
  • 10 balls
  • markers
  • 1 goalpost

 

  1. 2 goalkeepers will takes turn to be in goal and as a server, to the players.
  2. 2 coloured teams will be playing a 3 v 3 match. 1 team will be attacking and the other will be defending team.
  3. The server will start the play each times the ball is saved by the goalkeper or scored by  any player or the ball is out of play.
  4. Goals can only scored when balls played beyond or by through ball.

 

COACHING POINTS

  • Goalkeeper must adopt a Start poasition. Goalkeeper must not stay deep to the goal line
  • Must always constantly moving to cover the goal area. Gk needs to move align to the ball and the goalpost
  • Once the player from the attacking team manage to be in a scoring position . Gk will have to adopt a Set position and decide which Catching technique to adopt when the shot taken.
