SETUP:
- 30x20 area
- Mark out 6 cones in a hexagonal pattern (one each end and 4 across the middle) so that passes zigzag across area to reach opposite end and can zig zag back
- Start with a player on each cone and the remainder wait by the start cone
- Player at start has a ball and passes to his right. Player at the far end also has a ball and passes to his left
- Receiving players check away, receive on back foot for open body turn and pass to player diagonally across the grid
- All players follow their passes
PROGRESSION:
- Players think about their typical positions and use the kinds of turns they'd expect to need to negotiate each cone e.g. a defender may use mainly open-body turns, a #10 may use a front foot flick, a #9 a dummy 0-touch turn etc. Can vary and be creative
COACHING POINTS:
- Ready to receive
- Scan before receiving
- Touch away from pressure and transfer quickly
- Be creative
