Areas to cover when the opposition play a direct ball forward. This is same from any part of the field, it is just picking up the right areas.
1. Strikers; If the ball is played down the wing fiorward, then one stirker need to cover the wide area of the pitch where the ball has come from. The other striker picks up a central position, they may need to pick up the oppositions deepest midfielder if our midfield gets dragged in. If the ball is played forword from a central position, the same applies.
2. Att mid, drop into the central midfield hole picking up the spaces ready for any runs from midfielders.
3. CM, picks up one of their midfuelders, and stays with him and tight.
4. Both wide players drop in to pick up the most advanced player on their side of the pitch, this may mean needing to drop in to pick up a forward if our defence have to shuffle across.
5. defence, track your players whilst having the central one of the 3 free to play as a sweeper.
6. DM, drops into the defence to pick up a man left by the CB that has been pulled wide.
