The Blindfold Game

DESCRIPTION

The blindfold game consists of Individuals are divided into a group of three, and one individual is blindfolded.The person blindfolded starts at the blue cone, then with the team (without talking) have to create signals to direct the individual to the finish line (red cones). Each player has a turn to be blindfolded.

For example, clicking is to walk forward.
clap once is to turn left. clap twice is to turn right

COACHING POINTS

Signals need to be creative and basic for the team to understand.

The difficulty increases with distractions e.g. music and trying to distract the blindfolded individual with other random signals.

A negative aspect of the coaching session occured when the players struggled to to create signals for the session. Instead of helping them think of unique signals and helping them use their imagination, I gave them basic signals. This did not give the players a chance to communicate with each other and produce a group decision.

Reflecting on the "blindfold" session, the session needs to be explained correctly or the blindfolded indiviual would not reach the finish line. Also the signals need to be clear and composed to allow the session to progress.
