In this section, the player will be asked to bowl the full bowling action. To begin with, the coach will ask the player to bowl the ball from the base position, which means the bowler has no run up and bowls from a standing position. This like before, the aim is to experiment with trying to spin the ball as much as possible and lots of encouragement must be heard from the coach. In terms of distance, the bowler will bowl to the coach, who will be standing the correct distance for the age group of the player. No stumps or target will be used, as the sole purpose of this session is to turn the ball.
Once the player feels comfortable with this experience, the coach will then ask the bowler to then bowl from a full run up. The run up needs to feel natural for the player and left . This will then give both player and coach the opportunity to see how much spin the player is able to gather. This will be then used as an opportunity for the coach to add 1/2 basic technical points that may help the player spin the ball any more than he/she is currently doing.
