Running Between the Wickets

Cricket Coaching is a learning process and Sportplan is doing a terrific...
Riaz, Cricket Coach

DESCRIPTION

  • One 'team' starts behind a cone roughly at cover/extra cover.
  • One 'batsman' starts in their stance at the crease.
  • The coach hits the ball out just wide of the fielder at cover, as soon as this happens the batsman starts to run a two.
  • The fielder has to get the ball back to the keeper as quickly as possible/before the batsman completes their run.

This drill can be adapted so the fielding team tries to stop a quick single by moving the cone closer to the coach. The batsman would then start at the other end of the wicket
