Handball Drills

White player and green player start at the same time. They dribble through the areas and are accompanied by a defender blue. When the green and white players are in the same area, the blue players give them each others' attacker.

The two attacking players take it in turns to attack the two defenders in a 2v1. The non-attacking player is the feeder and the receiving attacker must then run forward and try to test the defenders, changing direction at speed in order to create gaps at the back and test the defeder's ability to work together to keep out the threat.

The wide attacker plays a one-two pass with the central attacking player. After this they then run forward and try to get past the left back. If they're unable to get past on their own they should wait for the support run from the central player who should aim to run between the defenders and play a jump shot on goal.

Player 1 is acting as the feeder as all other players line up to their left and right. Player 1 passes to the left first, in front of player 2 so that they must move forwards to meet the pass. Once they have the ball under control they should switch the ball cross-court to player 3. Player 3 runs onto this pass and then shoots on goal.

Setup : - Children dribble around.   - The trainer holds up different coloured bibs or pieces of paper, each corresponding to a specific action:   - Red bib: Children place their ball on a cone.   - Green bib: Walk over a bench.   - Yellow bib:Shoot the ball at cones placed behind a line.   - These instructions can be varied to keep the activity engaging. Make it More Challenging: - Use as many cones as there are children or intentionally use **one less cone** to introduce competition.   - Observe which child reacts too late or cannot complete the task. Variations :  Assign diverse tasks for each color:   Gather in the center circle.   Stand on a bench.   Lay down or sit on a mat.   Stand on a specific color line.   Move to the left or right goal.  

Two lines of players (one on each side) and a feeder/coach standing in the middle. The player on the left passes the ball to the coach/feeder in the midde. As soon as the pass has been made a player from the right should start running straight towards goal. The feeder turns and passes the ball into the path of the running player from the right. This player then shoots on goal. The drill repeats from the other side.

When B4 passes to B3, R1 runs forward to B1 to defend. When B4 passes to B5, R2 runs forward to B2 to defend. variation : - complete man-to-man defence on wing player - run forward, position diagonally, face to the ball, in between attacker and goal : R1 has got right hand in front of B1 and R2 has got left hand in front of B2 - let wing player catch the ball whereafter a duel far from the goal

Simple pass and follow drill. Starting with two players on the first cone and then one player on every other cone. The first player throws the ball to player two and then immediately sprints to follow their pass. Player 2 catches the ball and then turns and throws the player 3 before then also following their pass. This pattern continues until the player on the final cone receives the ball. At this point they dribble back to the start cone and the drills starts again.

Players run in a train around the cones, focusing on good ball control, speed and change of direction.

Players stand in groups behind different cones. Players must pass the ball to the player opposite them and then follow their pass behind the player on the opposite side. Players can use a variation of passes: Center shot, jump shot (3,2,1 step rhythm), push pass, bounce pass, double handed pass, rolled pass, pass using your weaker hand etc.

Run forward and pass. B1 starts the exercise, B6 puts down the balls and start the exercise from his side afterwards. variations in passing : - (center shot with pressure into the direction of the goal), threatening to throw at the goal - (center shot with pressure into the direction of the goal), threatening to throw at the pivot - jump shot (3,2,1 step rythym, jump off with 'wrong' foot - push pass - bounce pass - with both hands - roll the ball - use 'wrong' hand

(moving with ball) - dribble - dribble with right hand - dribble with left hand - dribble with left/right hand in turns - roll ball, take it, roll it etc. - throw ball into the air, let it bounce once and catch it etc. - throw ball into the air and catch it etc. - throw ball into the air and jump off to catch it etc. - throws the ball from behind your back forward with two hands - run and let ball circle around your waist. - giveball under your knee to the other hand with every step - same, now when you skip - football dribbling - keep ball in front : skippings, run, walk on tip-toe, walk on your heels, heels to bottom - feint (dummy) when you run - pass on when you run

Run around the cones and pass. variations in passing : - (center shot with pressure into the direction of the goal), threatening to throw at the goal - (center shot with pressure into the direction of the goal), threatening to throw at the pivot - jump shot (3,2,1 step rythym, jump off with 'wrong' foot - push pass - bounce pass - with both hands - roll the ball - use 'wrong' hand

Players stand approximately 10 metres apart from one another in a 3:3 attacking formation and pass the ball between themselves using a variety of passes. The aim is to move the ball around quickly and accurately catching using one and two hands to receive the ball.
