Cricket Drill Demonstration

Description

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON*

  • Two cones a long stride distance apart.
  • Standing behind one, facing the other, step the leading foot of the delivery stride to the opposite cone
  • Drag through the back foot on the back cone encouraging the back knee to drive through straight towards your target

 

Coaching points

  • Focus on extending the delivery stride. 
  • Adjust the distance of the cones depending on age and ability level. 

Progression

  • Once the stride is perfected, focus on encouraging a strong chest drive. 
  • Using a tennis ball, once the cone has been dragged through, tennis bal is to be driven straight into the ground.
