Community | Possession Grid

Adam Walker Coach, England

DESCRIPTION

Divide the area into 4 and split the players into 4 teams. 1 player from each team goes into each grid. To start with there is a ball for each grid. 3v1 in each grid, white starts off as the defender. When the defender wins the ball the colour that lost it is now in the middle as the defending player. If the ball goes out of the grid that player is also now the defending player. Prog 1 - 1 ball per 2 squares. The players remain in their square but now there are more passing options. Look to transition to the other square as much as possible. Still 3v1. Prog 2 - As above but if 5 passes are completed the 2nd defender can enter the square to reduce space and encourage quicker transitioning. Prog 3 - 1 ball game across the whole area. Players remain in their squares but look to play to other squares to transition away from pressure.
