DESCRIPTION

Set up a simple 15x15 square with 1 hoola hoop or circle of cones in each corner. You will need 4 teams divided evenly amongst the 4 corners. You will need 1 coach and 1 player in the middle with a hoola hoop or cone circle with 8-10 balls. These two are the “Chefs” and their hoola hoops and balls are their meatball plates in the kitchen. These two players will each have a spaghetti noodle in their hand and their soccer balls are the “meatballs” that they are trying to prevent from being stolen. When coach says “play” each team will send 1 player to the “kitchen” to steal a “meatball” from the chefs by pulling it out with their foot and dribbling it back their their plate in the corner. The chefs can use their spaghetti noodles to get their meatballs back by touching the ball with the noodle. If the chef touches the meatball then the player must return the meatball back to the kitchen and return back to the end of the line. Go in rounds of 90 seconds or until all the balls have been stolen and count which team has the most meatballs on their plates.

COACHING POINTS

Emphasize mechanics of dribbling at speed. Emphasize keeping the ball close to the body with small touches. Ensure players dribble all the way back to their corner and do not pass the ball or kick it to the next person in line. We want to enforce as much dribbling practice as possible.
