Community | 3v2 Continuous Attacking

Patrick Cassalia Coach, United States of America

DESCRIPTION

- Half field w/ 2 goals and GKs, 2 teams- Each team has 2 Defenders and 1 Attacker on each half (these players stay)-Other players split into 2 groups per team- One team plays out and attacks 3v2- Goal, save, or change of poss. then attack opp.Progressions:- 1 Attacker can defend play out of back- Add Defenders to endline and play 5v3 continuous Ball Wide: When we are counter-attacking 3v2 and the ball carrier is on one side of the pitch, we want to see deep runs from the number 9 and the opposite winger to drag the defenders away. One should run between the defenders and the other should make a wide run on the far side. Ball Central: When we are counter-attacking 3v2 and the ball carrier is attacking centrally, the attackers should force the defenders to either stay narrow to nullify the impact of a run between them (meaning the outside pass will be on) or encourage them to stay more open so they are closer to the outside players (meaning gaps will appear through the middle).
