Community | Front Player Linking Up

Colin Seaman Coach, England

DESCRIPTION

Thinking about patterns of play. Setup the team for the weekend with defenders and attackers. Initially, ask the defenders to remain static and allow the attackers to feed the ball in to the strikers. Encourage the strikers to move to areas of threat to link up with eachother and the other players. The wingers on the opposite side of the pitches must cut inside or get to the edge of the box to join the attack. The forward players overload the defenders to it is important that the movement of the forard players is sufficient to move the defence around with them. Once you have developed some static passes, allow the defence to move as per a normal game.
