DESCRIPTION

crossing and finishing in a 2 3 1.

zoomed in from 4231, defense is not needed for this drill.

green players are manakins but can be changed to actual defenders for an opposed version of the drill.

GOAL - one cdm either plays the ball to the number 10 or straight out wide, if played out wide the winger must come close for the ball, call for it, play a 1-2 with the 10 and play the ball to the striker who finishes.

COACHING POINTS

when attacking, talk to the cdms about providing cover. if the lm pushes forward, the left cdm should move toward the empty part of the field forcing the opposite cdm to fill in more centrally to keep balance in the team.

Shooting and crossing technique.

player positioning.

attacking movement, tell the players its okay for the number 10 and striker to swap.

for example..

the striker drops deep, the 10 makes move in behind and gets the ball played through,

attacking movement like this should be encouraged.
