Phase 3: Small Sided Game with no tackling

DESCRIPTION

  • Coach to set up 20x30 yard area with a goal at each end.
  • Players to be divided into two teams, with uneven numbers and play a small sided game with a condition that tackling is not allowed.
  • The only way the defenders can win the ball is by intercepting a pass or forcing the player in possession to make an error.
  • Once the defenders intercept the ball they become attackers to try to score a goal.
  • Play for 10 minutes and the team with the most goals at the end of this time is the winner.
  • End the session with a normal game of football with no coaching, so players can make their own decisions

Technical/Tactical: Passing, Type of pass, Pass Appreciation, Accuracy of passes, Turning, Type of turn, Attacking, Defending, Spacial Awareness, Intercepting, Role rotation, Keeping control of the ball, Holding of the defending, Sheilding the ball, Possession

Physical: Fundamentals: Agility, Balance, Co-ordination, Movement into space to receive the ball, Strength to hold of the defender, Speed

Social/Psycho: Fun and Enjoyment, Focus, Concentration, Self-esteem, Communication, Competitiveness, Rotating players.
