DESCRIPTION

Objective: Initial pulse raiser to prepare players both physically and mentally for the session.

Detail:

  • Organise players into 4 groups positioned at each corner of a 12 metre square.
  • Players pass to line opposite and join end of own line.
  • On coaches demand stop the practice and perform dynamic movements (hip flexors, lunges, heel to buttocks, groin abductors / adductors).
  • Gradually increase tempo and intensity of warm up.
  • Dynamic movements should be done until players feel muscle tightness not pain.
  • Quality of movement, then speed.
