DESCRIPTION

Objective: Pulse raiser to prepare players both physically and mentally.

Detail:

  • Mark out 8 10 x 10 squares with players positioned down the middle and on outsides.
  • To begin player 1 passes forward through gates to player 2. Player 1 then follows pass taking place.
  • P2 receives pass from P1 and plays forward to P3.
  • P2 then follows pass taking place of P3.
  • P3 dribbles with the ball into the next lane and repeats the process.
  • As soon as the ball is in the next lane another player can start using the gates.
  • Once the ball has travelled through every lane, player dribbles back to the start.
  • Before restarting practice, take players through dynamic movements.
  • Gradually increase the tempo and intensity.
  • Dynamic stretches - calf swings, straight leg jogging, hamstring volleys, thigh volleys, heels to buttocks, groin abductors / adductors, lunges.
  • Players should stretch until muscle tightness not pain.
