DESCRIPTION

Mark out 20 x 20 grid with 4 mannequins & cones, randomly spread out. Ask the players to show you different movements without the ball using the mannequins and cones as interference. Call out different numbers (ie. 2,3,4) in which the players have to get into a group of that size. Use this period for dynamic stretches.

  • Open / Close the Gate - Groin
  • Lunges - Hip / Glutes
  • Hip Rotations - Hip
  • Backwards Lunges - Quads
  • Punters - Hamstring
  • Intensity of movements with & without the ball needs to be high to raise heart rate & circulate blood.
  • Dynamic stretches should be done until players feel muscle tightness but not pain.
  • Make sure when stretching that the players cover different muscle groups (both lower and upper body)
