Team first formation drill

Very good interactive coaching drills.

DESCRIPTION

  • Mark pitch area with cones
  • Goal one end
  • Different coloured cones to create two wide channels

Instructions

  1. Server/ Defender starts with ball, simulating goal kick.  
  2. Pass to wide players
  3. Attacker must look for space for a pass
  4. Defender must move forward to support

 

 

COACHING POINTS

  1. Defender needs to see whos creating space and play the ball into them.
  2. Defender, once ball is played has to move forward to support 
  3. Winger who recieves has good open body position to see other players
  4. Attacker find space to recieve ball from winger.
  5. If attacker receives and not near goal, player ball to other winger.
