12 players work in an area approximately 30 meters wide, divided in two with a third boxed area at one end. Red team play 4 v 1 inside the first area but need to look for an early long ball to the blue team in the small coned area. There are 3 areas, a red a blue area at either end and in the middle a section for intercepting the long ball. There are 3 teams red white and blue and each have 4 players. Reds and blues will each be in an end zone with 1 white in each box and a white in the middle to intercept the ball. Every time the ball is switched the defender from that box will switch with 1 of the 2 players in the middle area.
coaching points:
The ball should not be intercepted so the team with possession of the ball must wait for clear opportunities to switch the play for example from red to blues or blues to red. When the ball is intercepted the ball must go back to the opposite team to restart the drill. Rotation is one team will begin defending and the team who stays attacking will switch ends.
