Patience Versus Quick Possession (Part 6)

DESCRIPTION

DOMINATE POSSESSION TO FINISH AT GOAL

Area: 50m x 80m


9v9 game where each team is looking to score in the opposition goal. Normal rules apply if the ball goes out of play.

  1. A nominated team have ten opportunities to score with all restarts from their own GK.
  2. A nominated team is going for goal with no restrictions. The other team must score within five passes of winning the ball.
  3. A nominated team is going for goal with no restrictions. The other team must score within seven seconds of having the ball.

COACHING POINTS

  • You want the players to realise the importance with each possession that they have and the opportunity to score.
  • The team with the limit will try to be more direct to goal, whilst the other team can choose their own strategy.
  • Choices in possession.
