Does anyone have any drills or ideas how i can get a few of the girls in the team to use their sweet spot to kick...I have had a couple of bruised toes and they are now scared to kick using their laces. This will help clear the area.
If you browse the web for a DVD called Blast the Ball by SoccerU, you may want think about nvesting in it. It spends a lot of time on this topic.
Blast the Ball has a lot of practical ideas.
A lot of the problem stems from the fact that some soccer boots have laces on the sides and not on top as usual. So the phrase "Kick with the laces" should be changed to 2nd Toe in.
Activites can include:
* All holding a ball at waist then dropping it but before it hits the ground, point the toes downwards and let the ball 'bounce' off the top of the foot. Repeat several times. Then repeat but now serve the ball forward so the player has to move forward before letting the ball bounce off the foot.
* Then roll the ball forward on the ground and chase it then use each foot in turn, try to just tap the ball forward using the top of each foot in turn so that you continue forward
