How can I remember the skills I've learnt when on the pitch?

I regularly play football and watch your videos, I find them interesting and helpful. Thank you! But I can't put the skills I've learnt into a game situation, as I forget everything when I receive the ball. Is there any solutions to this please? Thank you.

Practice has to be with team mates as much as possible.

For each practice begin with a technique like accurate passing whilst moving between players.

Then move on to passing and moving with only 2 balls between 6 or more players. Concentrate on communication, receiving the ball and turning, then dribbling with the ball before moving on to watching body signals from other players who want to receive the ball.

After that progress to trying to pass between players to another player after receiving the ball (no tackling, focus on passing).

Then you play a game in which these skills are emphasised, but now pressure and tackling are allowed.

Hopefully building up the technique into a skill and then progressing to a game all in the same session will help you and your team mates learn to do these things instinctively.
