Hi everyonehas anyone got a good team building drill i can use for a u15's girls team please?I have 18 girls signed on and they all attend training religiously, but we often have a split in the team as there are two groups from two different schools. They tend to train well together but during a match there is the odd occasion when they don't talk to each other or they only pass to their school mates...
Hi Duane,
This can often be the problem with younger teams and it is key to get a good spirit going within your group. In training, I recommend drills under the conditioned games section - any of these games are fun and will get your team working together and communicating. Break the ice and mix up the two groups together. Kabadi is extremely popular and fun, I`ve included it for you below.
Another thing you could do off the pitch is to organise more social gatherings and actitivies. I have found with my ladies team that we have a terrific team spirit and play so well together because we`re all very good friends away from the pitch, and we regularly arrange team outings. It doesn`t have to be expensive, you could arrange a game of bowling or go for a team meal!
Hope that helps!
