Heads drop when team loses goals all the time
Having a HUGE focus on development not results.
The club I am at, the U15s are playing in the U16s league (this is how Norway work, U15s and U16s play together). We are by far the youngest team in the league, and although technically just as good as everyone else... we can not physically match them. We are playing in the top league in the region so playing some professional teams also!
However we only ever focus on the players development not the results. They know the score. They know whats going on. They understand why they have lost but learn from those reasons and work even harder to develop as a team and as individuals.
It is tough to begin with! Its about changing the philosophy and the culture of the team, but once you have that culture it makes things much easier for you as a coach and the players remain focused, motivated and willing to improve.
