Why is driven passing and lofted passing important when starting an attack from the back?

It gets the ball to the location quicker, and therefore is harder for the defending team to get their shape and back to their positions. Instead of the CB, hitting the RB and then a MID and then the Striker, and CB with a loft or driven pass can play the ball to the striker.
