Handball | 316 center shot hip height Drills

Pass B1-B2-B1 goal shot. Also practise pass from the right side, which may be easier for right handed players (B2 on right backcourt position)

Blue players take it in turns to dribble forward and shoot on goal. However, there's 3 defenders in their way, so in order to make space for the shot players will have to shoot at hip height to avoid the defender's wide arms.

Pass B1-B3 throw at goal. Run backwards. Pass B3-B1 throw at goal. 8-10 throws in one series.

Pass B2-B2 (wing) back to B2 who throws at the goal. After the shot the attaquer becomes defender and the defender becomes attaquer. In the meanwhile ther is a shot on the right side.

Center shot hip height: A right hander should take one right footed step forward when they are about an arm's length away from their opponent. They should raise their arm to shoulder height, backwards, as if to make a normal center shot. Their right hip should be turning backward with arm and shoulder together. The player should then take a large step with their left foot, almost so that it is between the opponent's legs. The final move - players' arms move from back to front explosively, with their hand behind the ball (hand should be sideways, like you want to sweep the floor with the side of your hand). Finally, let go of the ball and point in the direction you want to throw it.

Players dribble forward to the line (may also be a rope between two poles) and shoot at the goal with a center shot hip height.

Pass B1-B2-B1 who throws at the goal just under the arm of defender R1 who "helps" the attackers.

Pass B3-B2-B1 who throws at the goal. B2 + B3 catch and pass in forward motion. Defender starts where the ball starts and he moves sideward to shot position. B1 feints a normal (high) center shot, but throws with a hip high shot.  

Feeder  blue 3 passes the ball to blue 2 and he passes to blue 1 who shoots on goal using a hip height shot. After the shot 2 and 3 change positions. Although the keeper will know what's coming they should still attempt the disguise the shot.

Pass B2-B1-B2 who throws along side defender. 8-10 throws in 1 series
