The focus of this week's session is on giving your batters some much needed time batting on grass; a chance to adjust to the pace and bounce of the wicket after a winter of playing indoors.
In this session we work less on the finer details of batting techniques and more on keeping things simple and uncomplicated - particularly focusing on playing straight and late to ensure your players are aware of playing too many cross-bat shots on early season wickets, when the ball is moving around and seaming off the pitch!
All the exercises in this session come with their own progressions and batting goals for your players. The beginning of the season is the perfect time to develop your batters' mindsets and mental approach to the game so it's for this reason that we set your players some SMART goals:
Get your batter back in the game and set them some targets for the season ahead today. The players who adapt best early season to bowler friendly wickets will prosper most!
