The objective of this drill is to work the ball through the gaps of the opposition defence, and as a defence close these gaps as a unit.
The rule of this game is that the ball must stay below waist level.
Create a square in the middle of the pitch and have two teams of four facing each end.
Behind that, have one striker for each team behind the opposition defence.
The team with the ball must feed the ball through the gaps in the defence to their striker. If the ball manages to get to their striker, then the defending team can break out of the square to close the striker down.
The defenders must work together to close the gaps as a unit by changing their piositioning depending on where the ball is.
The defending team canot cross the half way line to tackle. The attacking team can have unlimited passes to move the opposition defenders around to create the gaps. They can also not cross the half way line.
Bring the goals inward to create a smaller playing pitch.
